What We Believe

The Bible - We believe the Bible is the infallible, inerrant, inspired, and preserved Word of God. We believe the authorized King James Version of 1611 to be the preserved Word of God for the English- speaking people. II Timothy 3:16, 17; II Peter 1:19-21; Matthew 5:18; Hebrews 4:12; Acts 1:16; John 10:35; 17:17

The Person of God - We believe there is only one true and living God.  He is declared in the scriptures (Genesis 1.1) and evidenced in creation (Psalm 19.1, Romans 1.20) He is existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-eternal and co-equal from all eternity, each with distinct personalities, but one essence. Genesis 1:1; John 1:1-3; Matthew 28:19; Romans 1:2-4; Ephesians 4:3-6; I Corinthians 8:6; Deuteronomy 4:35; 6:4

The Person of Jesus Christ - We believe in the virgin birth of Christ, His Deity, sinless life, His vicarious death, along with His bodily resurrection and ascension and in His personal, pre-millennial return. Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18; John 1:1; 4:3; Luke 1:35; I Peter 2:22; 3:18; I Thessalonians 4:16

The Person of the Holy Spirit - We believe the Holy Spirit is the executive of the Godhead. We believe that He executes the plan of God for our conviction and salvation. Christians are partakers of the Holy Spirit and empowered for service by Him. John 14: 16, 17; 16:18; Ephesians 1:13, 14; I Cor-inthians 3:16; Romans 8:9; Acts 5:3-4

The Fall of Man - We believe that man was created in the image of God; and by choice, he fell into sin and death. Hence, every person is sinful and under condemnation to eternal judgment. Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:28; 5:12-19; Isaiah 53:6; Ephesians 2:1-3

The Salvation of Sinners - We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly by grace through faith.  That the shedding of the sinless blood of Christ, His death, burial and resurrection the third day is the Gospel and the only way of salvation. Acts 16:31; Ephesians 2:8-10; I Timothy 2:5, 6; I Pt. 1:18-23; Jn. 3:3-6; 10:28, 29

Hell  - We believe that Hell is a literal place of fire and torment where those who die in their sins will spend eternity. Mark 9.43-48, Luke 16.19-31

The Eternal Security of the Believer - We believe that those who receive Jesus Christ as Saviour are eternally secure. Our security rests on the finished work of Jesus Christ. Once an individual is born again, that Second Birth cannot be undone anymore than the first birth. John 3.1-7, John 10:27-30; I John 2:1-2; Hebrews 2:10; I Corin-thians 6:19; Romans 8:31-34

The Local Church - We believe that Jesus started the church during His earthly ministry and tied His authority to the baptism of John the Baptist. We believe that a Scriptural church is a visible assembly of saved and scripturally baptized believers, covenanted together under New Testament doctrine for the purpose of carrying out the Great Commission. We believe the two ordinances of the church are baptism and the Lord's Supper, and we also believe that non-church members do not participate in the Supper. Membership is by: Profession of faith (a clear testimony of Salvation) and scriptural baptism. Or, Transfer of letter from another local New Testament Baptist Church. Or.  Baptism, if you are not a member of another local New Testament Baptist Church. Matthew 16:18; 28:18-20; Matthew 3.13-17, Matthew 22.23-27,  Acts 16:5; Ephesians 1:22,23; 3:21; I Timothy 3:15; Acts 2.41; Acts 19.1-5

We do not hold to many modern practices: Speaking in tongues, faith healing, contemporary Christian music, immodest and worldly dress have no place in the New Testament Church.
