What can I do for the Lord?

“What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?” - (Psalm 116.12-13)

What can I do for the LORD because He has been so good to me?!

This is the question asked by the Psalmist.

When we see all that God has done for us, when we focus on Him and His work in our lives and count our many blessings – we may also find ourselves asking, “What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?”

What could I ever do for God?  What could I give to the Lord to show my gratitude?

The Psalmist goes on to say, “I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.”

Have we taken the cup of salvation?  Do we know the Lord Jesus Christ as our personal Saviour?  If so, do we take the cup of salvation with us everywhere we go?  Do we realize and enjoy the benefits that come from knowing the Lord and calling on His name often?  Do we truly make the most of “all his benefits” - including sharing that wonderful cup of salvation, filled with the Living Water, with others?

“I will take the cup of salvation,

and call upon the name of the LORD.”

Run with patience,

Pastor
