2 Samuel 22.36

These two words are often seen to be poles apart - the words gentle and great.

Every time I read this verse I have to stop and think about the gentleness of God, and the gentleness of Christ and how I too should be gentle in sharing the gospel with the lost, in helping Christians grow in grace.  Paul said in 2 Corinthians 10:1 “Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ...”

2 Samuel 24:10

This scares me, and it should scare you…

David confesses here that he had sinned, he had “sinned greatly”.  His confession to God is a good example to us.  But this also makes me fear, when I realize that David was about 70 years old when he “sinned greatly”!

Proverbs 15.29b

Do we ever pray, and it feels like our prayers just bounce off of the ceiling?  Are there time we pray and it doesn’t feel like we are praying?  Do we pray sometimes and forget that we have even prayed?

As normal people we often go around and around with something as abstract as prayer but - for those who are saved and living “right” (righteous) God always hears their prayers and is ready to answer according to His will.
