“...when they howled upon their beds:”

Hosea 7.14

What a most interesting picture this verse gives us!

“And they have not cried unto me with their heart, when they howled upon their beds:”

It reminds me of the time wicked King Ahab didn’t get his way, so he went home and went to bed pouting!

...when they howled upon their beds:”

The thing is, God is saying, in so many words, for all of their “carrying on”, for all of their “weeping and wailing”, they never once turned to the Lord in repentance and cried out to Him!!!

That reminds me of another verse in the book of Revelation, “And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:” Revelation 6.16

Why not just acknowledge their need for “repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” And then simply “call upon the name of the Lord” and be saved?  Acts 20:21, Romans 10.13

“Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.” Romans 1.21

...when they howled upon their beds:”

Don’t ever act is such a way spiritually, or otherwise!  Acknowledge the Creator and God of heaven!  He is the Saviour and He will receive all who come to Him in repentance and faith!  We can thank the Lord for His goodness which leads us to repentance.  Romans 2:4
