“The LORD is...”
Psalm 27.1
That word: “is...”, that little word with just two letters, “is...”
“The LORD is...” What exactly should it mean to us?
Well for me, it’s sometimes very important that I realize “The LORD is...”
Yes, the LORD was, and He always will be. The LORD God, our Lord Jesus Christ - Eternal. It’s one of His attributes (character/qualities). And it’s an amazing attribute! He has always been, and He will always be!
But sometimes… I just need to remember that “The LORD is...” right now!
When I feel I am in the dark, “The LORD is my light...” Psalm 27.1
When I am weak, “The LORD is my strength...” Psalm 27.1
When I feel hopeless and helpless, “GOD is... a very present help...” Psalm 46.1
When we feel we are fighting a losing battle, “Great is the LORD,” Psalm 48.1
When we feel we are wandering sometimes, a bit lost, without much direction, “The LORD is my shepherd.” Psalm 23.1
The LORD is...” just like Jesus said, “Before Abraham was, I am.” John 8.58 And, even when all is said and done, I can know that my Redeemer liveth (right now!) and has passed through the valley of the shadow of death and - if we have received Him as our Saviour - we can say, “this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.” Psalm 48.14
Sometimes I just need to remember... “The LORD is...” right now!
